Hotel Guest Reviews of the Clarendon Hotel

The hotel did not have room service, they advertise that they do. The hotel did not have continental breakfast, they advertise they do. The restaurant did not open until 8:00 am and I had to be at a training at a different hotel by 8:00 am, so I had to eat at the other hotel. Not very business friendly or the right atmosphere for business. ...read more

There was no blow dryer in our room, they don't offer paper view programs, the rooms are very small. For how much we paid per night I thought it would have been more comfortable to stay at a Best Western or Howard Johnson. There was no continental breakfast and the work out area was scary looking at best. Room service did not come the second day of our stay until about 4:00 p.m. by which time we were napping and getting ready for the evening so we did not want them vacuuming, changing the bed, etc. I thought the staff was rude and uppity. ...read more

This was a great place to stay. Clean and modern rooms, tremendously friendly staff, complimentary breakfast (and not some cheap continental breakfast - eggs, bacon, potatoes, muffins, etc) and free wi-fi and local and long distance calls. I would totally recommend this place and would stay here again in an instant. ...read more

Hip boutique hotel. Young staff dressed in black. Helpfull and friendly. Colorful crowd at the bar.

This hotel will be 4 or 5 stars when construction and update is completed. The owners have a great contemprory vision. Loved the people who work there - each one went out of the way to help. The toiletries were the same as the upscale resort we checked into next - 4Seasons Troon North in Scottsdale. Do I need to say more? ...read more

Unusually decorated hotel. Not the greatest neighborhood.

I would not recommend for family. Get central air. Clean your carpets regularly.

Perfect for families with small kids. The rooms were separated by concrete blocks so no noise penetrates through the walls. We never heard the guests next to us. The pool had a large 3 space before dropping down to the deeper end so pool use with the kids was fantastic. The staff was very helpful with advice to local spots and took us to the ballpark. The hotel is located on the very edge of the Phoenix downtown area so on one side it faces large business towers and behind it there look to be low-income apartments. The beds were very comfortable but the bathrooms are too small and need to be updated. There is a small complimentary continental breakfast and a computer to use in the lobby. Overall I would definitely stay here again. ...read more

The staff was welcoming and the interior of the room surprised me with it's fun design and quality touches. The architecture of the building is very modest, yet the rooms themselves are great.

The hotel tried to upgrade itself from a motel but failed. The air conditioning could not cool down the room at night; the drapes cannot block the sun light in the morning; there is no soda machine in the hotel. I won't go there again, for sure. ...read more
